Happy New Year!
askON is pleased to announce that our college partners have added the askON click-to-chat button to their online catalogue interfaces. Thank you to Alex Eykelhof and his staff at OCLS for making it happen. This enhancement makes the askON service more accessible and convenient for college students.

An interim schedule of askON research chat help has been created for 12 participating
Ontario colleges for the duration of the labour dispute involving support staff.
Students can get help from college staff 9-5 through regular college channels, including through their college library service website.
In the evenings and on weekends, askON interns (with the leadership of Seneca college staff), will offer research help.
- Monday to Thursday evenings: 7-10 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 12-4 p.m.
askON and Knowledge Ontario are glad to serve Ontario college students with research help . We do this in anticipation of a fair resolution of the labour dispute that will restore full askON service.

Digitization Facilitators Brigitte Campeau and Stephanie Cann have completed their contracts with the CDP and are moving on to other endeavours.
Brigitte’s work over the last eight months with the West Nipissing partnership included launching an absorbing and beautiful online collection, and galvanize a long-standing partnership between the regional public library, an historic museum and local historical and genealogical societies, all in French and English. The West Nipissing project continues in the capable hands of three Digitization Assistants and the project partners.
Stephanie has been with us since the beginning of the CDP in August 2009, working first at Haldimand County, then Prince Edward/Hastings County and finally with the Seguin & Township area. Stephanie brought three partnerships’ collections online, trained four assistants as well as staff from over 20 cultural organizations of all sizes, and has seen a lot of the province in the process.
We are amazed by and grateful for the excellent work, the endurance, and the experience of all our Digitization Facilitators during this project, including past DFs Morgan Peachey-Dupon, Krista McCracken and Dominique Dufour, and Mauricio Flores Guarneros who is presently working with the North Shore partnership out of Schreiber. The project continues to be a great success thanks to you!
See the latest Notes from the field newsletter for updates and the CDP webpage for information and links to all the collections created over the last two years.
